What a 12mph crash can get you

David Snow from California wrote in to share what what happened to him last February when he wasn't wearing a helmet on a slow, casual ride in San Diego (He fell going maybe 12mph):

  • Two skull fractures

  • One spinal compression fracture (almost paralyzed)

  • Four days in the hospital

  • Three weeks of severe vertigo

  • Three weeks using a walker to get around the house

  • Eight weeks out of work

  • $90,000 of medical bills covered by insurance

Says David, "That's the last time I will ever ride without a helmet. Ever."
