Throw-back to the 80's

It seems like the 80's had everything going for it - including being in the know about wearing helmets. Look how attractive and confident they are in their helmets!

Wearin' it right.

So you have a helmet. Here are some quick tips to make sure you are wearing it right:

Make sure that the helmet fits on top of the head, not tipped back.

Find the smallest helmet shell size that fits over your head.

The straps should be joined just under each ear at the jawbone.

The buckle should be snug with your mouth completely open.

After a crash or any impact that affects your helmet, replace it immediately

It's not only cool...

but it's also the law.

Take a look at the Bicycle Helmet Safety Institute to see what rules apply in your hometown.

(Kudos to Washington State for making its laws apply to riders of all ages.)

Helmet Photo Collection

We know...sometimes helmets can make us feel kinda nerdy. And we are betting that at least once you haven't felt cool riding around with a big bulky helmet on your head.

But what is cooler or more attractive than staying safe and protecting your body and mind?

That is why the Safety is Sexy Campaign is kicking off its helmet photo collection. We know that people who wear helmets are attractive and we want to see the proof!

Send in photos of you and your friends looking hot in your helmets. With your permission, we will share your photos on this blog for all to view.

Send your photos to: SafetyisSexy@gmail.com
